Katriella is an alt-pop singer/songwriter from the Washington D.C. area. She started writing music at 12 years old and it has been her passion ever since. Katriella does solo and collaborative projects with musicians of various genres.

 

Katriella is a performer in many art forms including the dance+flow arts. She loves to combine both crafts when possible. She is a co-founder of the Venus Rising performers and has sang and danced at venues such as the 9:30 Club, 123 Pleasant Street, Resonance Festival, Strathmore, The Hamilton, and Gambrill Mountain Co.  She has a captivating, raw, authentic connection to the crowd whether she is singing and dancing or simply playing live piano with raw vocals. 

Katriella also performs and and writes original music for community events. One of her most powerful performances was at a healing interfaith suicide awareness service in which she showcased her and Asa Fradkin's original melody to "Hine Matov". The crowd sang as one commemorating those that had been tragically lost to mental illness. The event was recorded by WAMU and was a beautiful way to gather together.

 

Additionally, Katriella strongly supports womxn's in music events and has made an appearance at a number of them showcasing original and popular music. She performed at events such as The Women’s and Gender studies breakfast run by Genevieve Carminati, Musica Feminista at The Music Cafe, and Hear Us Roar at Gypsy Sally's. 

 

As a yoga instructor she also leads live music+yoga events, chant troops, and sound healing.  She performs both original and traditional Kirtan melodies.
